  • Perform title level research including validating original release format, history, asset provenance, and related details.

  • Research inventory records to determine best assets for preservation and develop preservation strategy for the given title. Oversee identification and evaluation of elements.

  • On a project-by-project basis communicate project requirements with vendors. Review and approve associated work-product produced by vendors. Create preservation purchase orders and arrange for element movement as needed.

  • Create and curate inventory records for assets for digital archive. Maintain shared database for tracking status. Review deliverable in digital archive as warranted in support of data management. Ensure title and asset records are updated to reflect findings of verification and preservation activities.

  • Provide support for internal inquiries regarding library assets and research assistance as related to archive and remastering activities. Supervise selected archival projects, coordinating inventory maintenance, and vendor monitoring.

  • Researched and identified potential grants and other funding sources for the archive. Wrote, assembled, and submitted grant applications. Monitored grants that were awarded to the archive.

  • Solicited the deposit of new collections and acquired permissions, contracts, deeds of gift, and information from collectors. 

  • Taught the Audiovisual Archiving in the 21st Century course administered to undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Responded to reference inquiries by phone and written communication and assisted students, faculty, visiting researchers, and the public in the use of archive collections.

  • Conceptualized and participated in outreach initiatives.

  • Responsible for teaching the Audiovisual Archiving in the 21st Century undergraduate- and graduate-level course.

  • Designed a curriculum that examined the history, present state, and future of audiovisual archives with specific focus on ethics, copyright, contracts, fieldwork, preservation, access, as well as issues related to technology, space, budgets, and staffing.

  • Composed and entered item-level finding aids for the audiovisual collections in ArchivesSpace for posting to the Online Archive of California.

  • Stabilized and rehoused collection items in archival enclosures.

  • Tracked, retrieved, and returned collection items to/from preservation reformatting vendor.

  • Worked closely with the Autry’s Repatriation and Community Research Manager to prepare notices for affiliated tribal groups.

  • Performed the archival processing (sorted, researched, described, assessed physical condition, and rehoused) of lacquer disc master recordings from the Universal Music Group collection.
